March 15, 2022 – Village Election Endorsements

Joan Grangenois-Thomas is a current Trustee for the Village of Port Chester. Joan works as District Director for Congressman Mondaire Jones. She is also Principal of JGT Public Relations. Joan was the Volunteer Executive Director for Sustainable Port Chester Alliance from 2016-2020. Joan is a member of the Executive Committee as well as past president of the Port Chester/Rye NAACP Branch. Joan also Co-Chaired for the Complete Count 2020 Census Committee for Port Chester.

Joan and her husband David have lived in the Village of Port Chester for 31 years where they have raised their two young adult children.

John Allen is the current Deputy County Clerk for Tim Idoni. In that capacity, John oversees technology initiatives to provide better services to County residents while cutting costs. He is also currently a Commissioner for the Port Chester Zoning Board of Appeals where he has served for the past four and a half years. Admitted to the New York State Bar. Solo Law Practice, John Allen, Attorney at Law from May 2004-May 2006. John was previously a software engineer who developed and installed fingerprint systems on an FBI contract. John looks forward to bringing his experience in government, technology and the justice system to improve Village services efficiently and effectively.

John and his wife Jordan moved to Port Chester six and a half years ago. They love raising their two young children, who currently attend the Port Chester Public School District, in the vibrant community of Port Chester.

Cara is a current trustee for the Village of Tuckahoe. Dr. Kronen is currently helping to prepare the next generation of educators as the Deputy Chair of the Teacher Education Department at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, part of the City University of New York. Cara is a member of the CUNY Professional Staff Congress, and was elected last year to the union’s Delegates Assembly.  

Cara and her husband Quinn, with their two children, moved to Tuckahoe in 2016. Outside of her current role as a trustee, Cara is an active member of the community participating with local PTAs and the Friends of the Tuckahoe Library.

School Board Training

We are starting the new year with a training for those who are interested in preserving our strong public education system. School boards are stewards of education, and they need members who are committed to safeguarding and building robust public schools.

We want to work with you to identify people who might be interested in this work. This training offers an opportunity to help build the school board member pipeline by identifying people who might want to run (including you), developing engagement strategies and discussing the timeline and process for running.
